Engineered as a direct replacement for Hayward OEM part number PVXH009PK5, the Swimables SW-61-009 is a 5-pack of reduction gears built for Hayward AquaNaut and Poolvergnuegen suction-side pool cleaners. The reduction gear handles a critical step in the cleaner's drivetrain — it converts the high-speed rotational input generated by the turbine into a slower, higher-torque output that drives the cleaner's wheels with the force and consistency required to navigate pool floors, climb walls, and push through debris without stalling. When reduction gears wear out, the cleaner loses the mechanical advantage it needs for steady, reliable movement regardless of how strong the suction draw is from the pump. The SW-61-009 ships as a 5-pack, providing a generous quantity for a complete drivetrain restoration on one cleaner or several service calls across a pool route. Compatibility covers AquaNaut 200, 250, 400, and 450 cleaners and Poolvergnuegen 2-wheel and 4-wheel pool cleaners.
- Drop-In Replacement for PVXH009PK5: The SW-61-009 reduction gears are dimensionally matched to OEM specifications for the reduction gear position in Hayward AquaNaut 200, 250, 400, and 450 and Poolvergnuegen 2-wheel and 4-wheel suction-side pool cleaners, making installation a true drop-in fit during gearbox service rather than a kludged repair.
- Converts RPM to Wheel-Driving Torque: Each gear performs the rotational step-down that takes high-RPM turbine output and converts it into the slower, higher-torque wheel speed the cleaner needs to track steadily across the pool floor, transition onto walls, and push through leaf piles and other debris without bogging down or stalling mid-pass.
- Five Gears for Stocked Service Work: With five reduction gears per pack, the SW-61-009 supports either a complete drivetrain refresh on one cleaner or covers multiple gear replacements across several service calls, making it a practical, value-driven stocking choice for pool service techs and DIY pool owners managing multiple cleaners.
- Built for Constant Cleaner Loads: The reduction gears are molded from premium wear-resistant pool-grade plastic engineered to handle the constant rotational stress, chlorinated pool water exposure, and abrasive debris contact that comes with active suction-side cleaner operation, helping the gear teeth retain their shape and engagement over time.
- Inexpensive Path to Full Performance: Because the SW-61-009 targets a specific high-wear point in the drivetrain, replacing the worn reduction gears is one of the most affordable repairs available for AquaNaut and PoolCleaner series cleaners, restoring full cleaning performance at a small fraction of the cost of replacing the entire cleaner or full gearbox assembly.
