The Aladdin O-83 is a direct aftermarket replacement for Hayward part number SPX4000Z1, serving as the diffuser O-ring — and union O-ring on select models — for the Hayward TriStar, EcoStar, and NorthStar pump series. Seated between the diffuser and pump housing, this O-ring creates the critical internal seal that maintains prime, prevents air infiltration, and keeps the pump operating at peak hydraulic efficiency. A worn or degraded diffuser O-ring is one of the most common causes of air leaks, loss of prime, and reduced pump pressure — symptoms that are frequently misdiagnosed as more serious mechanical problems.
