Pulling the handle of the Polaris SpaWand, SpaWand Pro, and SpaWand ProXL causes water and debris to be drawn in. Water rushes out of the filter when the handle is pushed in, trapping dirt, silt, and debris inside. The SpaWand needs to be primed first. To do this, submerge the nozzle in your spa or pool and repeatedly pump the handle in and out. By doing this, any trapped air in the SpaWand is released. There are two distinct nozzles included with the SpaWand, each with three distinct functions. The Dual Purpose Nozzle flips to reveal either a narrow or bell end and fits snugly onto the SpaWand End-Cap Base. The Dual Purpose Nozzle's narrow end is covered by the Wide Sweep Nozzle.
