The Taylor Total Alkalinity Indicator (R-0008-A) is a 0.75 oz dropper bottle of liquid reagent designed for use with Taylor test kits to accurately measure the total alkalinity in pool and spa water. This indicator is essential for maintaining proper water balance, which helps prevent pH fluctuations and protects pool surfaces and equipment. To ensure accurate readings, store the reagent at consistent temperatures between 36°F and 85°F (2°C–29°C) and away from direct sunlight. Taylor formulates its reagents to remain effective for at least one year under appropriate storage conditions; therefore, regular replacement of reagents, ideally annually or at the start of a new testing season, is recommended.
