The Taylor Phosphate Reagent #1 (R-0980-A) is a 0.75 oz dropper bottle designed for use with Taylor test kits to accurately measure phosphate levels in pool and spa water. Monitoring phosphate concentrations is essential, as high levels can promote algae growth and reduce the effectiveness of sanitizers. Proper storage between 36°F and 85°F (2°C–29°C) and away from direct sunlight preserves its effectiveness. Taylor formulates its reagents to remain effective for at least one year under appropriate storage conditions; therefore, regular replacement of reagents, ideally annually or at the start of a new testing season, is recommended to ensure accurate water chemistry readings.
