Whatever the Pool Needs. Two rotors share the load so the compressor runs balanced at any speed with no shaking. Cold water at the start of the season, it runs wide open. Once you are at temperature it settles into a low-speed hum that sips power. Smart mode picks the speed for you. Silence mode caps it for nights and early mornings.

Ten-Year Warranty to Back It. The heat exchanger is a titanium spiral sealed in PVC with 30% more surface area than a straight tube. Salt water, high chlorine, low pH, none of it touches metal that can corrode. The ABS housing shrugs off sun and rain, rated IPX4, with a side-discharge fan that keeps the footprint narrow enough for a tight equipment pad.

Go by pool volume first. The MI650X is rated for pools up to 18,000 gallons and the MI900 up to 28,000. If you are near the top of the MI650X range, have a spa on the same loop, or want to swim in the shoulder season in Southern California, step up to the MI900. Undersizing a heat pump means it runs at 100% more of the time, which erases the inverter savings. Both run on the same 30 amp breaker, so the electrical does not change.
Moov rates the Inverter at 30 to 50 percent lower seasonal energy use than a single-speed heat pump of the same BTU. The savings come from holding temperature at low speed instead of cycling on and off at full power. Actual numbers depend on your climate, pool cover use, and set temperature.
Yes. The heat exchanger is titanium sealed in PVC, which does not corrode from salt or chlorine. That is what the 10-year exchanger warranty is backing.
No plug. Both models are hard-wired 208-230V single phase on a 30 amp breaker with 10 AWG wire. A GFCI is not required for the unit to run, but if your local code requires one, some GFCI breakers nuisance-trip on variable-speed equipment, so confirm the breaker type with your electrician. Installation must be done by a licensed professional to keep the warranty.
Moov rates it at 48 dB(A) in Silence mode and 50 dB(A) or less at 10 feet. That is quieter than a household refrigerator. A single-speed heat pump of this size typically runs 65 dB or more, which is closer to a window air conditioner.
Out the front, horizontally. That keeps the unit only 16.5 inches deep so it fits against a wall or fence. Leave 20 inches of clearance around the unit and keep the discharge side open so the cold air is not pulled back into the intake. Moov’s larger MI1100 and MI1400 blow upward instead.
