The CMP Eyeball Return Fitting Check Valve 25552-504-000 is a 1.5-inch black return fitting designed to optimize pool water circulation. When the pool's circulation pump is active, the eyeball fitting directs water flow efficiently. Upon the pump's deactivation, the integrated check valve closes, preventing water from exiting the pool. This mechanism ensures consistent water levels and enhances the overall efficiency of the pool's circulation system.

Will valve prevent pump loosing prime when shut off ?
Hi Ken,
This fitting is a return-side check valve, when the pump shuts off, it closes to keep pool water from draining back out through the return line.
It won't prevent the pump from losing prime. Prime loss happens on the suction side of the system, usually from air getting in through the pump lid o-ring or a suction fitting, or water draining back down the suction line when the pump is off. To address that, you'd want to look at a check valve on the suction line and make sure the pump lid and suction-side connections are sealing tightly.
Thank you,
