  • The power pack is connected to the pool circulation pump's electrical source so that the lectrolytic cell can only operate when the pool pump is on. The flow portion of the flow/temp/ salinity sensor is a backup device
    only.
  • The sanitizing vessel uses a combination of an electrolytic cell and a mineral cartridge. The electrolytic cell contains bipolar electrodes which perform the electrolysis and produce chlorine when energized with DC current. Chlorine is generated as pool water containing salt passes through the cell. The chlorine production can be varied by either adjusting the Chlorine Production Level on the power center or by varying the number of hours the Nature2 Fusion Soft is on each day. The Nature2 Fusion Soft automatically cleans the electrodes once every three (3) hours by reversing polarity. This does not interrupt the production of chlorine. The mineral cartridge delivers a controlled trace amount of silver and copper that works in conjunction with the chlorine to maintain an algae-free pool.

    Description

    Electrolytic Cell Replacement

    • Unplug the DC cord from electrolytic cell.
    • Run the pool pump and filter for five (5) minutes. After this time turn off the pool pump.
    • Close valves between filter and pool to prevent pool draining.
    • Unplug the DC cable from the electrolytic cell.
    • Turn the large collar counterclockwise to remove and save for reinstallation.
    • Remove the O-ring and discard.
    • Remove the existing the electrolytic cell from the vessel.
    • Install the O-ring provided in the kit. Make sure the O-ring is seated properly.
    • Install the new electrolytic cell into the vessel.
    • Hand tighten the large collar. Do not over tighten.
    • Plug the DC cable into the electrolytic cell. Press cable down firmly onto ports.
    • Reset valves and switches. Turn pump and sanitizer on. Wait five (5) minutes for system to go
      through its diagnostics.
    • Confirm chlorine output and settings on the user interface.
    • For operating instructions, please refer to the Nature2 Fusion Soft Installation and Operation Manual, originally supplied with the product.

    Highlights

    • The purer the salt the better the life and performance of the electrolytic cell. Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The ideal salt is an evaporated, granulated, food-quality, non-iodized salt. Consult your salt supplier.
    • Set chlorine production to 00%. Operating the unit above 00% production without salt will damage the electrolytic cell. The Salinity button C on the sanitizer user interface keypad can be used to determine salinity in the case of a new pool installation, or a complete water change so long as the chlorine production is set to 00%.
    • Never use dry acid to adjust pH in arid geographic areas with excessive evaporation and minimal dilution of pool water with fresh water. A buildup of by-products can damage the electrolytic cell.
    • Do not operate the electrolytic cell without water circulation. A buildup of fl ammable gases will result in FIRE or EXPLOSION.

Electrolytic Cell Cleaning - As Needed
Depending upon water chemistry, occasional manual cell cleaning may be necessary.
    1. Switch off the fi lter pump and chlorinator, close necessary valves.

    2. Unplug the yellow connector from the vessel.

    3. Unscrew the electrolytic cell retaining ring and remove the electrolytic cell.

    4. Look down into the electrolytic cell to see if there is scale on the plates

    5. Mix cleaning solution in a suitable plastic container by adding one (1) part of hydrochloric (muriatic) acid to ten (10) parts water. Note: To avoid splash, always ADD MURIATIC ACID TO WATER rather than water to muriatic acid. Solutions stronger than 1:10 will damage the electrolytic cell and void warranty. Submerge only the plates of the electrolytic cell in the cleaning solution. Allow the cleaning solution to dissolve the calcium deposits for approximately fi ve (5) minutes.

    6. Repeat the procedure if necessary. Take care to avoid splashing the electrolytic cell terminals and other
equipment with the acidic cleaning solution. Wash down any spills with plenty of fresh water. To neutralize acid cleaning solution, add baking soda (foaming will occur).

    7. Rinse the electrolytic cell in clean water and reinstall into the vessel. Insure the O-ring is seated properly and coated lightly with silicone lubricant. Hand tighten collar.

    8. Replace the yellow plug after drying and smearing lightly with silicone grease.

    9. Reset valves and switches. Turn pump and sanitizer on.

    10. Confi rm chlorine output and settings on the user interface.
